At the heart of the village since 1668, The Gin Trap is a proper North Norfolk inn with plenty of stories to tell. Once a coaching inn for farmers, traders, fishermen and smugglers, today it’s a place for good food, a well-stocked bar and a few nights away.
Settle in by the fire, find a spot in the garden or stay a little longer and explore North Norfolk, with the coast just a few miles down the road. Locals, visitors, children and four-legged friends are all welcome.
Our menus follow the seasons and the produce at its best. We work closely with trusted suppliers, bringing together ingredients from Norfolk’s farms and fields with fish and seafood landed on the coast. Good produce, cooked with care and without making things more complicated than they need to be.
You’ll find well-cooked pub favourites alongside dishes that change as the seasons do, giving you a good reason to come back and see what’s on the menu now. Join us for a long lunch, settle in for supper, start with a few for the table and always save room for pudding.
There’s something rather nice about knowing your room is only a few steps away. Join us for supper, linger over another drink at the bar, then head upstairs when you’re ready.
Our individually styled rooms and cottages make The Gin Trap an easy base for a night or a few, with breakfast waiting in the morning and North Norfolk just beyond the door. Dogs are welcome in selected rooms and cottages too.
